Swirl resistance comes from the pairing
Gtechniq’s claim for the two layer build is improved swirl resistance over regular 9H paint protection coatings. The hard surface takes the contact, the softer base sits underneath it.
It takes the hit that etches paint
Bird droppings are acidic and they etch clear coat. Gtechniq’s claim, compared with standard ceramic coatings, is that Crystal Serum Ultra withstands even the strongest wash chemicals and bird droppings. The coating wears that instead of your factory finish.
From a cold morning to a baking bonnet
Gtechniq rates Crystal Serum Ultra as very resistant to extreme heat changes, from -40°C to +250°C, and credits the flexible base and hard top together. A dark bonnet in a Brisbane summer sits well above air temperature, then cools overnight, over and over.
Crystal Serum Ultra is in every package on this page, whichever level you choose. Gtechniq says it can be over coated with EXO or C2 for the best hydrophobic performance. We coat over it with Gtechniq EXO V5, which is included from Ultra Black upwards. We walk you through registering the nine year guarantee in your name at handover.
Accreditation
The coating we install can’t be bought. Only earned.
Deluxe Detail has been a Gtechniq accredited studio since 2018. Crystal Serum Ultra is an accredited-installer-only coating. Gtechniq doesn’t sell it retail, and the 9 year warranty behind it is only available through studios that have earned and kept their accreditation.

Paint enhancement
A coating locks in whatever is underneath it.
This is the part that takes the longest and the part nobody thinks about, and it is the real difference between a ceramic paint protection job that lasts and one that just looks shiny on collection day. A ceramic coating does not repair paint. It seals it, exactly as it is, for years. So the paint has to be right before anything goes on it.
New does not mean perfect
Cars reach us with transport marks, wash marks and swirls already in the paint, often put there by a rushed pre delivery detail. In the showroom you will never see them. Under studio lighting they are obvious.
Hours, not minutes
The enhancement polish is done panel by panel until the defects are gone and the paint reads clean. It is where most of the time in the studio goes, and it is the difference between paint that looks good and paint that looks corrected.
Measured, not guessed
We take paint depth readings before we start. Clear coat is finite and you do not get it back, so we take the defects out without taking more than we need to.
Then it gets locked in
Only once the paint is right does the coating go on. Skip this and you are not protecting a new car finish, you are sealing somebody else’s swirl marks under nine years of Crystal Serum Ultra.

Every panel is machine polished to remove defects and bring the paint to full clarity before anything is locked in.

Panel preparation
A final panel wipe removes every trace of polish and oil so the coating bonds directly to perfect paint.
