Service & appointments
1. Services
Deluxe Detail Pty Ltd specialises in premium automotive protection, including:
- New Car Protection Packages
- Ceramic Coatings (Paint Protection)
- Paint Protection Film (PPF) Installation
- Window Tinting
2. Bookings & Deposits
- Bookings are made in advance. We don’t accept walk-ins due to high demand and limited bay availability.
- A deposit is required to secure your booking. Deposits can be paid via credit/debit card through a payment link, or by EFT bank transfer.
- Your deposit is deducted from the final invoice on completion.
3. Cancellations, Reschedules & No-Shows
- More than 48 hours notice: full deposit refund, or transfer your deposit to a new date, whichever you prefer.
- Less than 48 hours notice: 50% of your deposit is forfeited as a cancellation fee.
- No-shows: the full deposit is forfeited.
A PPF or coating booking holds an entire wash bay for the day, and short-notice cancellations are difficult for us to backfill, which is why this policy exists.
4. Payment Terms
- We accept debit/credit cards, EFT bank transfer (funds must clear before pickup), or cash by prior arrangement (no change kept on site).
- Final payment is due on completion of work.
- We reserve the right to retain possession of the vehicle until payment is received in full.
5. Service Duration & Weather
- An estimated completion time is provided at booking. Times may vary based on vehicle condition and the work performed.
- Curing time for coatings is weather-dependent. In wet or humid conditions, your vehicle may need to be kept an additional night to ensure the coating cures correctly. We’ll communicate this with you as soon as we know.
6. Vehicle Condition
- Pricing for our New Car packages assumes the vehicle is presented in as-new factory condition.
- For all other vehicles, additional preparation, paint correction, or decontamination may be required and will be quoted separately before work begins.
- You agree to disclose any pre-existing damage, paintwork, repairs, or repaints before service. Undisclosed issues may affect the quoted price or the suitability of certain treatments (particularly PPF removal, see the PPF section below).
7. Customer Responsibilities
- Please remove all personal belongings, valuables and removable accessories from your vehicle before drop-off.
- Deluxe Detail is not liable for any personal items lost, damaged or left in the vehicle.
- Please leave your vehicle with sufficient fuel for our team to move and test it during service.
8. Dash Cams & In-Car Recording
To respect staff privacy while working in and around your vehicle, any active dash cams or in-car recording devices may be temporarily disconnected during service. They will be reconnected before pickup.
9. Satisfaction
We take pride in our work. If you’re not satisfied with any aspect of the finish as delivered, please let us know within 48 hours of pickup and we’ll address it promptly. This timeframe is so we can verify the issue before normal use causes additional wear.
This 48 hour window is about the finish on the day. It is separate from, and does not shorten, our Deluxe 12-Month Workmanship Guarantee at clauses 33 to 42, which covers installation faults appearing later. Neither timeframe limits any rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 14).
10. Liability
- Deluxe Detail is not liable for damage caused by pre-existing conditions, misuse, accidents, or negligence by the customer or third parties.
- Our liability for any direct loss is limited to the value of the service provided.
- We are not responsible for vehicles parked outside our premises in the public car park, regardless of operating hours.
11. Photography & Marketing
We may photograph or film completed vehicles for our portfolio, social media, and marketing. If you would prefer your vehicle not to be used in this way, please let us know in writing (text or email) before pickup and we’ll respect that.
12. Privacy
We respect your privacy. Personal information you provide is used only for service delivery, communication, and warranty records. We don’t share customer data with third parties except where required by law.
13. Modification of Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Any changes apply only to bookings made after the change date. The version in force when you accepted your quote continues to apply to your current booking.
14. Governing Law & Australian Consumer Law
- These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Both parties will attempt mediation in good faith before commencing any legal proceedings.
- Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law where to do so would be unlawful.
Paint Protection Film (PPF) additional terms
Thank you for choosing Deluxe Detail for your PPF installation. PPF is one of the most effective ways to protect your paint, but please read this section carefully so you have realistic expectations about how the film performs and how it’s installed.
15. PPF is Protection, Not Perfection
- PPF protects against stone chips, minor abrasions, and environmental contaminants. It is not a substitute for a flawless paint finish.
- Industry standards allow for some minor imperfections, such as slight edge visibility, tiny dust specks and minor stretch marks, which do not affect the protective properties of the film.
- The film enhances the paint finish, but it cannot correct pre-existing defects such as swirls, scratches, or rock chips. Paint correction can be quoted separately.
16. Wrapped Edges & Installation Limitations
- Where possible, edges are wrapped for a seamless look. Some areas can’t be fully wrapped due to film limitations, extreme curvature, or factory tolerances.
- Complex body panels may require visible relief cuts to ensure proper application and prevent lifting.
- Some installations may require seams or overlays. These will be positioned as discreetly as possible but may still be visible.
17. Matte PPF Considerations
- Matte PPF gives a satin/flat finish, either protecting factory matte paint or converting a gloss finish to matte.
- It is not a colour-change wrap. It protects the existing paint underneath.
- Some minor gaps may be visible in tight recesses, sharp curves, or extreme angles where the film cannot be fully wrapped.
- Matte film shows oils and fingerprints more readily than gloss. We recommend matte-specific cleaning products to maintain a uniform finish.
18. Curing & Post-Installation Care
- PPF requires a curing period of 2 to 3 weeks depending on weather. During this time, small bubbles or hazing may appear and will dissipate as the film fully adheres.
- Do not wash the vehicle for at least 7 days after installation.
- Avoid touching or pressing on the film edges, as this can cause lifting.
19. Two-Week Health Check-Up
We ask that you bring your vehicle back two weeks after installation for a complimentary PPF health check. This visit lets us:
- Inspect the film and confirm all edges have settled correctly.
- Make any minor trims or adjustments needed.
- Replace any sections affected by lifting or installation defects.
Please bring the vehicle to us washed. Road grime sitting on the film and along the panel edges hides exactly what we need to look at, and we can’t properly assess how the edges have seated or what condition the film is in on a dirty car. The 7 day no-wash window in clause 18 will have passed well before your check-up, so a normal hand wash beforehand is fine.
This step is important for the long-term integrity of the installation, and we strongly recommend you attend.
20. Self-Healing & Durability
- High-quality PPF self-heals minor scratches and swirl marks when exposed to heat (sunlight or warm water).
- PPF is excellent protection against stone chips and road debris, but it is not indestructible. Large impacts can still damage both the film and the paint underneath.
21. Maintenance
- Hand wash with a pH-neutral shampoo. A ceramic spray sealant can be applied for added hydrophobic properties.
- Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, and automatic car washes.
- If using a pressure washer, stand back, as close-range high pressure can lift the edges.
- The manufacturer’s warranty covers material defects such as yellowing, cracking, and delamination, but does not cover damage caused by improper care, accidents, or external factors.
22. Removal & Replacement
- PPF should only be removed by a professional to avoid paint damage.
- Deluxe Detail is not responsible for paint defects that become visible when PPF is removed, including repainted panels, weak clear coats, or pre-existing damage. These were present before the film was installed and were hidden by it.
Ceramic coating additional terms
23. What Ceramic Coating Does (and Doesn’t Do)
- A ceramic coating creates a durable hydrophobic layer that protects against environmental contaminants, UV, light scratches, and chemical etching.
- It will not fill or remove existing swirls, scratches, or paint defects. Paint correction is a separate service and may be quoted before coating.
24. Curing & Post-Installation Care
- Coatings take 24 to 48 hours to surface-cure and 2 to 4 weeks to fully cure.
- Do not wash the vehicle for at least 7 days after application.
- Avoid heavy rain, road salts, or chemical exposure during the first 48 hours wherever possible.
- Water beading is the coating working as designed, and that is what hydrophobic means.
25. Maintenance
- Hand wash only, using a pH-neutral shampoo and a two-bucket method.
- Avoid automatic car washes and abrasive cleaners.
- We recommend a maintenance decontamination wash every 6 to 12 months to preserve hydrophobic performance.
- Improper maintenance is the most common cause of premature coating wear.
Window tinting additional terms
26. Initial Appearance
- After installation it’s normal to see slight haze, water pockets, or small bubbles. These can take up to 4 weeks of sun exposure to fully dissipate as the adhesive cures.
- Industry standard allows for minor dust specks or imperfections in the film, and these will not affect performance or longevity.
- Some film edges may be slightly inset from the glass edge due to factory window seals and frame tolerances.
27. Post-Installation Care
- Do not roll your windows down for 48 hours after installation. Lifting the film off the seal during the cure window can cause it to peel.
- Do not clean the inside of the windows for at least 7 days.
- Always use ammonia-free cleaners on tinted glass, as ammonia degrades the film.
28. Performance
- Our premium tint films reject heat, block 99% of UV, and resist fading and discolouration.
- Tint reduces interior glare and protects upholstery from UV damage but does not eliminate all heat.
29. Legal Tint Limits (Queensland)
- Queensland law sets minimum visible light transmission (VLT) levels: 35% VLT on the front side windows and 20% VLT on the rear side windows and rear screen. No full-coverage film is road legal on the windscreen; only a top visor strip is permitted. Sunroofs are not regulated.
- We quote and install to legal shades by default. The darkest legal front film we stock is our Rayno Phantom S9 “35%” film, which transmits 40% VLT.
- If you ask us to install a shade below the legal minimum, or any film on the windscreen, we will send you a separate waiver to sign before we begin. By signing it you accept that the vehicle may attract a defect notice or fine, that it may affect your insurance, and that you release Deluxe Detail from liability arising from that choice, subject to section 14.
- We will not carry out a below-legal installation without that signed waiver. You are free to change your mind and revert to the darkest legal shades at any point before installation.
30. Window Tint Warranty
- Our Rayno Phantom S9 film carries a lifetime manufacturer’s warranty against bubbling, peeling, cracking, delamination, adhesive failure and discolouration. The warranty is transferable to a new owner of the vehicle.
- The warranty covers the film itself. It does not cover damage caused by ammonia-based or abrasive cleaners, scratches from objects contacting the film, damage caused by window seals or aftermarket accessories, or glass breakage from any cause.
- Warranty claims are assessed at our Oxley studio. Please keep your invoice as proof of installation date.
- Nothing in this section limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (see section 14).
31. Existing Film, Removal & Re-Tinting
- Removing existing window film is a separate service and is quoted separately. Old, heat-baked or poor-quality aftermarket film can take considerably longer to strip than expected.
- Rear screens carry printed demister lines on the inside face of the glass, directly beneath the film. These lines can lift or break during removal even when the work is done carefully. Deluxe Detail is not liable for demister damage arising from the removal of film we did not install.
- Where we can see a high risk of demister damage we will tell you before we start, and you can choose to leave the existing rear film in place.
- Window film should only be removed by a professional.
32. Windscreen, Sunroof & Glass Condition
- Our packages cover the front side windows, rear side windows and rear screen. Windscreen tinting and sunroof tinting are not included in any package and are quoted as separate services.
- You agree to disclose any existing chips, cracks or scratches in the glass before installation.
- Installation involves heat and pressure. An existing chip or crack can spread during the process, and Deluxe Detail is not liable for the spread of pre-existing glass damage.
Deluxe 12-Month Workmanship Guarantee
33. What This Guarantee Is
Deluxe Detail Pty Ltd (ABN 68 626 679 721) of 4/89 Factory Road, Oxley QLD 4075, contactable on 0483 932 276 or at admin@deluxedetail.com.au, guarantees that the workmanship of our ceramic coating, paint protection film (PPF) and window tinting, that is, the way the product was applied or installed, will be free from installation faults for 12 months.
This is a voluntary guarantee provided at no cost, in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (clause 42) and the product manufacturer warranties (clause 37).
34. Guarantee Period
The guarantee runs for 12 months from the date you collect your vehicle, being the completion date shown on your tax invoice.
35. What Is Covered
We cover genuine installation and application faults that appear within the guarantee period:
- Ceramic coating: high spots, streaking, uneven coverage, hazing or holograms left from preparation, or the coating flaking or failing as a result of how it was applied.
- Paint Protection Film (PPF): edges lifting or peeling, bubbles or blisters, trapped dirt or contamination under the film, silvering, or poor alignment and trimming.
- Window tint, including any windscreen film fitted at your request: bubbling, peeling, lifting, adhesion failure, or poor edges and gaps.
Some concerns may be caused by workmanship, a product fault, or a combination of both. We will inspect the vehicle and determine the appropriate claim process. Where the concern appears to be a product defect, we will assist with the relevant manufacturer warranty claim (clause 37).
36. Reasonable Installation Tolerances
PPF and window tint are installed by hand. Minor visual variations that are not reasonably noticeable under normal viewing conditions, do not affect product performance, and fall within accepted professional installation tolerances are not considered workmanship faults.
A vehicle’s design, paint condition, panel shape, existing damage, and its sensors, badges, seals and trim may affect the finished installation. Moisture pockets, temporary haze and small water bubbles that appear during the normal curing period are not defects unless they remain after the curing period stated in clauses 18, 24 and 26.
37. How This Sits Alongside Your Product Warranties
The 12-month workmanship guarantee covers our work. The products themselves are separately covered by their manufacturers for longer:
- Ceramic coating, Gtechniq Crystal Serum Ultra: 9 years
- Paint Protection Film, Terminax UltraNAX: 10 years
- Window tint, Rayno Phantom S9: lifetime
Warranty periods are those stated on the certificate supplied with your specific product. Manufacturer warranties require compliance with their individual registration, maintenance, inspection and claim requirements, and you remain responsible for satisfying those requirements. Deluxe Detail will assist with and administer valid manufacturer warranty claims, but approval and the final remedy remain subject to the manufacturer’s terms and decision.
38. What Is Not Covered
- Accident, collision, vandalism, or misuse of the vehicle.
- Stone chips, road-debris impact, and environmental damage such as bird droppings, tree sap, tar and bitumen, acid rain, road salt and industrial fallout, including where contaminants are left on the surface rather than removed promptly as directed.
- Improper washing, including automatic or brush car washes, harsh or abrasive chemicals, dirty wash media, or abrasive pads and brushes.
- Improper pressure-washer use on PPF, meaning high-pressure or close-range washing, particularly directed at the film’s edges, which causes the film to lift. Keep pressure washers at the recommended distance and pressure and away from all edges.
- Not following the aftercare guidance we provide, including the curing and post-installation care requirements set out in clauses 18, 24 and 27 of these Terms.
- Damage, failure or deterioration caused or contributed to by work performed by another person or business on the affected surface, panel, window or surrounding area. Work performed elsewhere on the vehicle will not automatically cancel this guarantee unless it caused or contributed to the fault, or prevents us from properly assessing it.
- Pre-existing conditions, including paint defects, rust, prior damage, or existing coatings, film or tint, whether disclosed or not.
- Normal wear and tear, and the gradual reduction in gloss, water-beading or performance over time. These are covered, if at all, by the product manufacturer warranty in clause 37.
- Damage caused by the customer, for example winding windows down during the tint cure period, ice scraping, or applying stickers to film or tint.
39. Conditions
- This guarantee is provided to the original owner only and is not transferable. It ends if the vehicle is sold or ownership is transferred within the 12-month period. Where a product manufacturer warranty is separately transferable, its own terms apply.
- It applies only to the specific vehicle serviced by us.
- You must follow the aftercare instructions provided at handover.
- You must provide your Deluxe Detail tax invoice or other reasonable proof of purchase and service.
40. How to Make a Claim
Contact us as soon as reasonably practicable after first noticing the issue, preferably within 14 days, at admin@deluxedetail.com.au or 0483 932 276, with your name, invoice number, vehicle details and photos of the concern. Delayed notification may affect a claim where the delay has caused additional damage or prevents us from properly assessing the original issue. This does not limit any rights available under the Australian Consumer Law.
We will arrange for you to bring the vehicle to our Oxley studio so we can inspect it and confirm whether it is a workmanship fault.
Claim expenses. Deluxe Detail will cover the cost of inspecting and rectifying an accepted workmanship claim. Unless otherwise required by the Australian Consumer Law, you are responsible for the cost of presenting and collecting the vehicle from our Oxley studio, including any travel, towing, transport or accommodation expenses. Any expenses Deluxe Detail agrees to reimburse must be approved by us in writing before they are incurred and supported by receipts.
41. Our Remedy
The remedy provided under this voluntary workmanship guarantee is repair or reapplication of the affected panel, window or section, at our discretion and at no charge to you.
This does not limit any right you may have to a refund, cancellation, compensation or another remedy under the Australian Consumer Law, including where there has been a major failure. This voluntary guarantee does not itself provide reimbursement for inconvenience, loss of use, travel, accommodation or hire-vehicle costs, except where you are entitled to recover those under the Australian Consumer Law or another applicable law.
42. Your Rights Under the Australian Consumer Law
This guarantee is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under the Australian Consumer Law:
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract with us and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods. If a failure with the goods or service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time; and if this is not done, to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion. You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
43. Customer Acknowledgment
By accepting these terms, you confirm that:
- You have read and understood these Terms & Conditions, including the service-specific sections that apply to your booking.
- You understand that PPF, ceramic coatings, and window tints are designed for protection and enhancement, not perfection, and that minor industry-standard imperfections are part of the installation process.
- You agree to follow the recommended maintenance guidelines to preserve the integrity of the work.
- You acknowledge our cancellation, payment, and liability terms as set out above.
- You have been provided with our Deluxe 12-Month Workmanship Guarantee at clauses 33 to 42, and understand it is a voluntary guarantee that sits in addition to your Australian Consumer Law rights.
